A Man Like None Other is a beautiful novel with a heart-wrenching story. If this cover doesnât raise your temperature a few degrees, the story will. Grab a fan before reading this one, because it really heats up. This is such a lovely book. The author writes characters that make you feel as if you literally stepped into the pages of her book. Characters are definitely the strong point of the novel. It does take a while to untangle them in the beginning but read carefully and persevere, itâs worth it. A lot of it is predictable but it doesnât detract from the story at all, since itâs written with humor, entertaining situations and interesting characters.

Running I kept on running endlessly away from the force that had been chasing me. I canât figure out what it is but it is scary All I can see is its blue eyes coming towards me and- snap I wake up covered in sweat breathing heavily Seeing itâs 6:50 am I get up and take a shower⌠I wear my leggings with a purple tank top and a b***on-up plaid shirt leaving the b***ons undone I comb my blonde hair letting it flow on my back then grabbing my backpack and going down to the kitchen to grab breakfast. Did I tell you about myself no? Well, my name is Scarlet Reyes I live with my Mom in the little town of Baja California.

âI have given myself to you. Why donât you break up with Janet?â the woman asked in a seductive, breathless voice. She was half-na*ed and hovering above a man. âDonât mention her name when we are making out.â The man was so excited that he squeezed the womanâs breasts and moaned in pleasure. The woman seemed dissatisfied as she didnât get the answer she wanted. âNo way! She is an adopted daughter â even our dog holds a more important position in our family than she does. Whatâs so good about her?â The man didnât say anything. He gripped the womanâs waist and thrust harder, which made her scream and moan his name. Janet Lind stood in front of the door, listening to everything in the room. Her tired eyes turned cold as she understood what was going on. She had just returned from the hospital. Hannah, who had raised Janet ever since she was a child, was diagnosed with advanced liver cirrhosis three months ago. The woman needed a liver transplant right away. Janet had to gather the money to pay the medical expenses. To make her situation worse, her younger sister hooked up with her boyfriend. Janet felt her life was falling apart. âDid you hear me? You have to tell me your decision tonight. Itâs either her or me. The choice is yours.â Jocelyn Lind pounded on Steve Carterâs chest, desperate to hear his answer. Arissa felt a humid, warm breath at the tip of her ear as a man held her from behind. Thrashing reflexively, she tried to break free from his forceful embrace but to no avail. Her eyes brimmed with fear as her body shuddered violently in desperation. She was sold by her own father! âLet me go!â she whimpered before her voice was eventually muffled. âDonât be scared. Iâll be sure to take responsibility,â the man blurted in a low, husky voice. Sealing Arissaâs mouth with his strong hand, the man proceeded to do whatever he wanted with his frail victim. Nine months later, in a derelict house, the cries of a baby were heard. âMs. Adams, itâs a boy!â âTake him out of here!â Danna Adams, dressed glamorously, stood outside the makeshift delivery room, pinching her nose as she scowled at the gory scene within. A middle-aged woman who was attending inside suddenly screamed. âWhat happened?â snapped Danna. Having been waiting for this child for so long, she couldnât afford any mishap. âMs. Adams, itâs twins!â gasped the woman as she dashed out from the room, clutching a pair of newborns in her arms. âAnd both are boys!
